Spring Break

This past week was my spring break and it was a pretty good week. I got to sleep a pretty decent amount and got a few things accomplished. I took a day trip to Seattle with a friend and helped up at the camp on Saturday. I wish I could extend it by about 2 more weeks to continue to catch up on sleep though. Since January, I've averaged 3-5 hours of sleep per night. Not so good on the immune system nor the brain. I should be sleeping now, but I'm trying to find my textbooks, update my Zune, and get ready for tomorrow. Hope you all had a fabulous week! May you have a bright sunshiny day! :)

"Not Me" Monday

Wow, it's been a loooooong time since I've posted one of these. I don't have much to say this week, but I did remember a few things from last week that I most certainly did not do.

It was definitely not me who had just buttered her bun, and went to smell it, shoving the freshly spread butter up her nose. Nope, not me!

It was also not me who used her pocket knife as a utensil when eating a cinnamon bun. Not me! I have way more manners than that!

I would never also use that knife to open a butter packet the next day. How rude!

What about you? Anything you didn't do this week?

More Americans Say Global Warming Exaggerated

More Americans Say Global Warming Exaggerated

Any thoughts or opinions?

I can't say for certain, but based on the past few winters in the US, I'm sure doubting it. Especially this winter....

They say you can't base your belief in global warming off of a few cold winters. Funny, they were doing that with the past few warm summers...as proof that it exists.

For an interesting debrief of Al Gore's global warming summit, click here.

It's Camp Time, Winter Camp Time

It's off to winter camp I go! :) Almost...tonight was the first service and it was fabulous. I look forward to spending the rest of the weekend up at camp as soon as class is over and work is done tomorrow night! Please pray for God to move. There are many needs we are believing for. As well, I have 2 finals Monday and can use the prayers. I'm soooooooo excited to be a camper again! See you all next week!

CROSSING THE LINE - THE INTIFADA COMES TO CAMPUS

CROSSING THE LINE - THE INTIFADA COMES TO CAMPUS

I got this video emailed to me today and it's really shocking. I've grown up in a small town, small county, but despite the "small-town" feel, I've heard anti-Semitic statements since high school. It was from kids who didn't have a clue what they were talking about, but they picked up the statements somewhere. When someone acted weird or out of the ordinary, they were called "acting Jewish." I heard statements like, "That's so Jewish." They didn't make sense, so I'd call kids on it and they'd ask me if I liked Jews. I said I had no reason not to and they'd be quiet for a while. In college, I haven't heard a lot, although I don't live on campus so I don't hear the conversations all the time. However, I have seen one of those demonstrations they talk about in the video, where kids act like they are being shot by Jews or by US soldiers. I go to a pretty liberal college and they are anti war of any kind. However, I was shocked when seeing that. Just recently, when reading an article about a study done when Israel took in refugees after Chernobyl, we were talking about something to do with land and refugees, and this grad student said, "Yeah, Israel's always taking over people's land and kicking them out." I could hardly believe my ears. Here's a grad student, gone to college for around 5-6 years, and he's just as confused as those high school students. Shocking really. Anyways, watch this video, it's eye-opening.

Fun at the Library

As you may or may not know, I work at my local library and enjoy it very much. I have so many hilarious little things that happen but I usually forget them by the time I get home. Sadly, my memory loss is earlier than most. While I don't have a funny story, I do have a funny/pet peeve story.

Without fail, no matter what day or time of day it is, how busy or how dead the library is, when I go over to the DVDs with a cart of new ones to shelve, within a minute, I am surrounded by at least 1 anxious patron. The DVD section will be empty, no one in sight, no one looking at it, but without fail, as soon as I walk over there to shelve DVDs, it's like a feeding frenzy, the sharks smell the fresh blood and attack. It makes me laugh, and they always pretend I'm not in their way, although I know I am, so I usually politely leave the cart there and walk away while they attack. It's quite hilarious. I'm sure there's a phenomenon for that.

Thank you for reading yet another random story from my life. Tune in next time to hear...Ok, I won't tell you because I don't know yet, but when I do, I'll let you know. Deal?
